Ok, not the high end cosmetics I had in mind to blog about.
First the disclosure bit. I am a "Buzz Agent". This means I get sent items by the mysterious "Buzz Agent Jono" (I have a Men in Black type person in my mind when I think of him) to test and then give my honest opinion on. bzzagent are a word of mouth marketing company - I think it's a great idea but I guess a company has to have faith in its product to do this!! Because the reviews are warts n all.
I was lucky enough to be included in the Buzz campaign for Compeed. Agent Jono sent me a bundle of Compeeds to try and awaited my feedback. I dare say the campaigns timing was deliberate for when our feet came out of socks and those strappy sandals make their marks.
As every year I launched my feet straight into strappy sandals and that very day a blister arrived. Funny how something so small can hurt so so much. They burn and throb with every step. You know the drill...
I have to admit I had seen Compeed in the shops and adverts showing a woman with perfectly manicured feet skipping around rocking a Compeed plaster. I had put them in the "overpriced gimmick" pile and not purchased them. When Buzz Agent Jono offered me some for free I decided that at that price point they were worth a bash.
For those not in the know, Compeed are a range of foot care plasters designed to soothe various foot problems.
Once my Buzz kit arrived (it's what us Agents call the stuff we are sent to try out) I shoved it in my handbag and thought no more of it. Until the day I decided it was time to hastily renew the nail polish on my toes & whip out my sandals. By lunchtime I was thankful for the forgotten Compeeds in my bag.
Compeed are a strange almost jelly like plaster which are a very pale translucent skin like shade ( rubbish description I know) which soothe the fire of a raging blister. As a veteran of blisters with my bluster career stretching some 25 years I feel qualified to comment here. The Compeed do what it says.. They do cushion and protect a blister. They do soothe. All those claims are true!
So, when my Buzz kit runs out I will be buying more. These are a handbag essential if you have a love of silly shoes like I am. Sensible shoe wearers need not invest...

Hello.... It's Minty
Wow... Here I am. On the loose on the a WorldWideWeb. Hellooooo blogosphere!
I have been pondering on writing a blog for ages. Being someone who is never stuck for words, blogging has it's attractions. I can wax lyrical about whatever takes my fancy and as this is my little corner of the WWW I can write pretty much what I like. I can go on and on about it safe in the knowledge that if anyone reads it it's because they share my passion.
If you stumbled across me then it's probably by accident. As make up was in the title you'd probably expect a largely make up focused blog. Well you'd be right. Cosmetics and skin care are my passion. They are my escape from a stressful job and life. From reading about it, buying it and playing with it; yes I love it all.
Make up is that thing that perks you up- if I look good then I feel good. It's the little illusion every woman can create that her skin is better than it is, her face is a nicer shape and that she feels better than she in truth does. It's what I do as I prepare for the day ahead. As a working Mum it's my me time.
I am an avid reader of make up blogs. I read every word that legends in the beauty blogging world such as Jane at http://www.britishbeautyblogger.com , Ruth at http://www.amodelrecommends.com and the amazing Caroline Hirons write. I can only aspire to write amazingly as they do- and for that matter take photos of their standard Here's where I admit that my grasp of computing is not all it could be... So this should be interesting!!
Many beauty bloggers are in their 20's. Well I'm an old bird of 44. I want to write about products that excite me- but ones I use. Ones that other women want to use simply to look and feel their best. Whatever their age. I don't want to look 20 years younger than I am - I just want to look good for my age. But if I can hold the years back I will!! I try to remind myself that ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
Anyway. Enough about me... If you are reading this I guess I figured out how to post. In the next day or so I will write about a few products that inspired me to start this blogging thang.,
